C-Crete Interviewed by MIT News on the Future of Cement-Free Concrete

October 2023, C-Crete’s founder and president, Dr. Rouzbeh Savary, was interviewed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), to share his journey toward developing a low/no-carbon alternative to traditional cement.

The article, titled Cleaning up a common substance: Cement, explores Dr. Savary’s path from MIT to founding C-Crete and developing a Portland cement-free concrete that significantly reduces carbon emissions. In the interview, he reflects on how MIT instilled the mindset that “(almost) anything is possible when passion, determination, and grit collide.”

The coverage highlights how C-Crete’s innovative material can eliminate one ton of CO₂ emissions for every ton of cement replaced, making it a game-changer in sustainable construction.

Special thanks to Zach Winn and the MIT News team for spotlighting this important work.
