C-Crete Selected by Engineering News-Record as one of the Top 2023 Visionaries
April 2024, C-Crete was honored to be invited to the 59th Annual Award of Excellence event by Engineering News-Record (ENR) in New York City.
The company was recognized among ENR’s Top 2023 Visionaries for its groundbreaking development and field deployment of the world’s first cement-free concrete made from non-carbonate rocks.
C-Crete’s founder and president, Dr. Rouzbeh Savary, was among the distinguished speakers, sharing his vision for the future of construction with some of the world’s most forward-thinking engineers, architects, builders, and innovators.
He described a transformative approach to construction: converting Earth’s abundant natural rocks—such as basalt and zeolite – into structural materials with minimal alteration to their original composition. By pulverizing and reconnecting these passive rocks into beams, columns, and slabs, we can create infrastructure that not only avoids harming the planet – but may even benefit it. A sharp departure from the carbon-intensive process of making Portland cement.
