Key Features & Benefits
Decarbonizing Cement/Concrete
Unlike traditional cement concrete — which accounts for nearly 8% of global CO₂ emissions — C-Crete dramatically reduces the carbon footprint of construction, saving up to 1 ton CO₂ per ton of C-Crete binder used.
Zero Use of Portland Cement (PO)
C-Crete contains no cement. Instead, it uses natural rocks or industrial by-products, while remaining fully pourable for easy placement with standard construction techniques.
Superior Performance vs. Conventional Concrete
C-Crete is optimized for strength, sustainability, and versatility. Independent 3rd party testing confirms its superior compressive strength, long-term durability, and adaptability to a wide range of construction needs.
Cost-Parity
C-Crete product is commercially competitive with traditional concrete, providing an eco-friendly solution without a premium price.

Water Efficient
C-Crete requires approximately 15% less water than conventional concrete, supporting sustainable construction practices without compromising performance.
Standards Compliant
C-Crete meets or exceeds ASTM C1157 and other key durability tests, including freeze-thaw, drying shrinkage, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), and chloride/acide resistanance, ensuring reliable, long lasting structural performance in a wide range of environments.
No New Codes Needed
C-Crete is designed to fit seamlessly within existing ASTM standards, eliminating the need for additional approvals or regulatory changes.
Optimal Heat of Hydration
C-Crete’s concrete maintains a temperature around 95 °F, making it safe for use in large foundations and mass concrete applications. This helps minimize the risk of thermal cracking in accordance with ACI 301 guidelines.
Easy Implementation
C-Crete is engineered for practical, real-world construction processes, making it easy to integrate into standard job site workflows. It is compatible with all conventional placement techniques and formworks, allowing contractors to use familiar methods without requiring specialized equipment or training.
Ultra-Low Energy
Compared to traditional Portland cement production — which requires extremely high kiln temperatures of around 1450 °C and ranks among the most energy-intensive industrial processes — C-Crete’s binders are synthesized at much lower temperatures, which drastically reduces the energy demand for concrete production.
Admixture Compatible
C-Crete works with certain concrete admixtures, enabling flexibility for specialized mix designs and construction requirements.
High Solar Reflectance
C-Crete helps reduce urban heat island effects by reflecting more solar energy than conventional concrete surfaces.

Different Colors & Surface Finishes
C-Crete naturally offers a range of earthy tone colors—completely free of dyes or pigments—while maintaining the versatility of conventional concrete. It can be finished using a variety of techniques, including exposed aggregate, polished, polished and sealed, or sandblasted (ideal for terrazzo floors), providing both aesthetic appeal and durable performance.
Scalable Production
Abundant feedstocks and a manufacturing-ready formulation make C-Crete suitable for projects of any scale, from small developments to large infrastructure.
Proven Performance
Since 2023, over 3,000 tons have been successfully placed in residential, commercial, and federal projects, demonstrating its reliability, versatility, and scalability across a wide range of construction applications.
Award-Winning Innovation
C-Crete has been successfully recognized through major grants and accolades—from a $10.4 million grant from the California Energy Commission and U.S. Department of Energy, to the DOE’s $2 million boost for carbon-negative concrete to scale its sustainable binder technology.
